Allende de las montañas…un cuento para toda edad (más cierto que inventado)

Damas y caballeros, infancia y adolescencia, con su permiso iniciamos esta sesión que esperamos sea para su diversión.

Somos una compañía de titiriteros y, como se pueden imaginar, siempre en apuros. Vaya, con hambre. Contamos en esta ocasión con Mercedes, mi esposa, nuestro segundo hijo, Ricardo, y yo mismo, Juan.

Somos de allende de las montañas, de Buitrago de Lozoya (Madrid).

Esta mañana hemos recibido un inesperado mensaje de Ana Bueno pidiendo que nos sumemos a la celebración de sus 80 años, una invitación para comer en Sepúlveda (Segovia), a las 14,15 h, en El Figón de Ismael.

Como estábamos sin trabajo hemos pensado que era un buena oferta y hemos llegado con puntualidad.

Y aquí estamos, tras una opípara comida: entrantes, ensalada, judiones, cordero lechal y cochinillo, melón, ponche segoviano y bola de helado de chocolate.

Hemos acompañado encantados a Ana, quien no hace honor a su apellido pues es Bueno y debería ser Buenísima ya que es la más bella persona del mundo.

Echamos de menos a su marido, Pepe Gil, que nos dejó ya hace casi siete años.

Celebramos haber contando con la presencia de sus nueve hijos (y acompañantes respectivos, algunos “en pecado”) y sus ocho nietos. También de su hermana mayor, Juanita.

Gracias al resto de los presentes que han aceptado interrumpir su buen yantar para escucharnos, no siendo familia ni teniendo más relación que la coincidencia en tiempo y lugar. Esperamos que también disfruten de la función.

Por la premura hemos preparado unos regalos “según arte”, lo que había en casa, tres latas de caramelos de “La Pajarita” de Madrid y a elegir alguno de los cencerros, cascabeles, esquilas y campanos que hemos ido coleccionando a lo largo de toda la vida y en todo el mundo, desde Japón a la India, desde Namibia a Bolivia, desde los Andes a la meseta castellana, desde Canadá a Jordania.

Por favor, Ricardo, muestra la ristra.

Para poner un orden pediremos que los nietos respondan a una pregunta, una frase o situación de una narración infantil que han de identificar. Quien vaya acertando sale del grupo.

Pero...¡observo que es un juego difícil así que lo acortaremos y permitiremos elegir a quienes acertaron a la primera, Johanna, Julia y Janos!

Estos tres eligieron las latas de caramelos, los demás distintos cencerros, esquilas, campanos y cascabeles que Ricardo fue separando de la ristra para darlos en particular.

Después, todos pudieron elegir más elementos de la ristra.

¡Hasta una señora de la sala, no de la familia, pidió poder elegir un cascabel de la ristra porque había acertado a la primera lo del ejemplo, de Caperucita! Y se concedió tal deseo.

 

De despedida, damas y caballeros, infancia y adolescencia, tengo que compartir con ustedes una hipótesis indemostrable (no la puedo demostrar) e irrefutable (no la pueden negar).

La hipótesis es que estoy muerto.

Sí, parezco un humano más pero no, estoy muerto, muy muerto.

En vida fui bueno sin saberlo y, tras la muerte, me concedieron vivir para siempre en el Paraíso.

Y en el Paraíso también me concedieron de compañera a la mejor diosa, a Mercedes.

Y hacen que todos los días reciba ciento por uno.

Por ejemplo, la familia que tengo. También amigos y compañeros.

Por ejemplo, hoy por la mañana la invitación para estar a la mesa con Ana, el compartir la compañía de su familia y de quienes han coincidido en lugar y tiempo, todos ustedes.

¿Qué habré hecho yo para merecer tanto? me pregunto cada día.

“Trump is crazy” is a reassuring, simple, and false explanation!

It is common to label political figures and leaders as “psychopaths,” “crazy,” or “mentally ill,” without further explanation. This is heard and read used to describe, for example, Donald Trump, Christine Lagarde, Ursula von der Leyen, Benjamin Netanyahu, Emmanuel Macron, Javier Milei, etc.

These are impoverished narratives that, when examining the world's disorder, focus on a single personal explanation: "S/He's crazy." And when referring to collectives, it's more of the same: more unreasonable impulses, more "dark forces," more delusion and mental disorder as explanations, for example, for the violence of sports fans, fascists, law enforcement, Israeli pilots and soldiers, etc.

These interpretations, besides being false, are offensive to those who truly suffer from mental illness, because such political leaders and violent groups don't suffer in "the exercise of their madness." On the contrary, they revel in their wickedness, they delight in the harm they cause, they act with fanaticism, indecency, and provocation.

"Trump is crazy" is a reassuring, simple, and false explanation!

 

This is a situation fostered by neoliberalism

If someone attains power and resorts to political obscenities, indecent language, and imperialist and fanatical decisions, if they pursue a colonialist and racist agenda, it is not a mental disorder but a situation fostered by the unbridled capitalist structure, neoliberalism, as Frédéric Lordon and Sandra Lucbert analyze in their book "Drive": "Fascism does not 'start with madmen,' fascism begins with structures. Socio-historical structures determine which instinctual drives are permitted, they distribute permissions, and in doing so they favor the trajectory of certain psychic structures — those that are best suited to exercise these permissions, with all the more vigor as they receive the full endorsement of an order of domination. We can therefore go so far as to say that social structures select the psychic structures that are appropriate to them"1.

It is not the leaders who run amok, but rather the structures that enable these excesses and, above all, legitimize them.

Capitalism has achieved a deregulation that allows it to do absolutely everything and promotes dehumanized leaders who are satisfied with unchecked power, so they can have others at their service.

Deregulated capitalism has increased economic power through the control of the media, social networks, and the "parties apparatus," and consequently, through the manipulation of democracy.

Furthermore, it has manipulated the system to promise unrestrained gratification of personal and collective impulses.

 

These are not unexpected aberrations; they are perfectly predictable

Leaders like Trump and Netanyahu are not an aberration but the expected expression of a regime where mediation collapses, where the state merges with the leader's desires, and where obscenity becomes a legitimate political response.

Thus, the “madness” of accusing of terrorism anyone who writes or shouts “Long live free Palestine!”, or the Big Brother-style control of social media to maintain an official narrative on “thorny issues” such as the US siege of Venezuela or apartheid and genocide in Palestine.

In reality, it is not “madness,” but a perverse mechanism connected to institutions that promote and authorize excesses “above” (leaders) and “below” (violent groups).

We tend to accept that illness justifies everything; it's the progressive medicalization of daily life, including, in this case, the overwhelming presence of scoundrels among the leaders (at the top) and violent organizations (at the bottom). They aren't sick. They are scoundrels, selected, promoted, and legitimized in their actions.

Politicians are usually scoundrels, not psychopaths or the mentally ill Politicians often represent the dregs of society, the worst of humankind, since they are capable of enduring the unspeakable for years in order to satisfy their ambition for power.

The structure of political parties (“the machine”) controls the flow of candidates and only promotes those who are corruptible, insensitive, manipulable, obscene, and cunning.

Economic and political structures select and promote these scoundrel leaders.

It's not that all politicians are scoundrels; it's that scoundrels have more opportunities in politics because capitalism needs them and political parties promote them.

In other words, good people have little chance of rising to power. Some succeed, but it's rare.

 

Not all politicians are the same, of course

Not all politicians are the same, of course. Some, as we've already said, are not scoundrels. In any case, it's very unfair to label the scoundrels who govern us as psychopaths, crazy, or mentally ill.

They don't suffer from any mental affliction.

They are, simply, bad people (like those who went into politics "to line their pockets"). They put their obscene ambition above any ethics or values, and they sustain their ambition by fulfilling the mandates of those who possess wealth.

They are not psychopaths, they are not crazy, they are not mentally ill.

They are bad people.

They are shameless.

They are wretched.

They are criminals.

They are scoundrels.

They are not psychopaths.

They're not crazy, they're not mentally ill.

They're people selected by the economic and political structures which facilitate the ever-increasing enrichment of the elites, with contempt for all rights, solidarity, and compassion.

 

Difficult times

We live in “difficult times,” in the words of Teresa of Ávila, referring to the danger of the Inquisition in Spain in 1559 (in her autobiography “Life of Mother Teresa of Jesus,” chapter 33), to the atmosphere of suspicion that surrounded her freedom to speak of God and her mystical experience: “They came to me with great fear to tell me that difficult times were upon us and that I might be arrested and taken to the inquisitors.”

Currently, times are also difficult, as everything is justified by the “war on drugs” and the “fight on terrorism,” including political obscenities and imperialist decisions that attempt to justify themselves through the madness of leaders.

The same applies to the excesses of, for example, the Israeli military, the “law enforcement” forces, football hooligans, and other similar groups. It's not madness, no, it's the structure of unchecked capitalism.

Please don't label scoundrels (bad people) as psychopaths, or crazy, or mentally ill. The mentally ill suffer. The mentally ill are good people.

“Direct Action” Boycott Teva Products 

 

Do you feel powerless in the face of the genocide in Palestine?

 

Do you feel that our smallness is immense compared to its immense strength, to Israel backed by the United States, the European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and other “wealthy” countries?

 

Do you want your actions to “make an impact” and weaken Israel’s power?

 

Boycotting Teva products gives you the opportunity for “direct action,” without intermediaries, without the commitments of politicians and institutions distorting your own commitment.

 

“Direct action” leads to social and political change through collective mobilization. Its main objective is to pressure the established power using immediate and direct action, without resorting to intermediaries or representatives.

 

“Direct action” is based on solidarity (“today for you, tomorrow for me”) and tenderness (an inner emotion that deeply unites us with those who suffer, a state of mind that predisposes us to help). 

 

Why Teva? 

 

Teva is an Israeli pharmaceutical company. The world’s largest generic (unbranded) drug company. It also sells brand-name drugs. 

 

Teva is Teva, and many other companies like Actavis, Davur, Belmac, Ratiopharm, and Tevagen. 

 

Teva is a corrupt and corrupting company in every country in the world where it operates. It has been convicted and fined billions of dollars for its criminal activities (some of which have resulted in countless deaths, such as the opioid “epidemic” in the United States). 

 

Teva generates immense profits that are used in Israel to sustain the Zionist regime, apartheid, and the genocide against Palestine. 

 

Furthermore, Teva directly supports the Israeli army, for example. with special support programs for its soldiers. By boycotting Teva, you are directly diminishing Israel's power.

 

Ten Key Ideas 

 

1. Teva is a criminal, corrupt, and corrupting company. 

 

2. Teva generates revenue for the State of Israel and directly supports apartheid and genocide against Palestine. 

 

3. Almost all Teva medications have equally or more effective alternatives. 

 

4. When picking up medications at the pharmacy, it is legal to request that they not be from Teva. 

 

5. When the medication is hospital-prescribed (or prescribed by hospital specialists), you can also request a prescription for alternatives to Teva. 

 

6. When you use a Teva medication, you are bringing suffering, hunger, mutilation, disease, torture, death, and destruction to Palestine; you are directly participating with Israeli Zionism. 

 

7. When you avoid a Teva medication, you are preventing suffering, hunger, mutilation, disease, torture, death, and destruction in Palestine; you are directly harming Israeli Zionism. 

 

8. When you weaken Israel and protect Palestine, you are weakening the “export” of Israeli methods that harm the population and that could one day be applied to populations in other countries, including Spain and other European countries. 

 

9. Much of the use of Teva medications is due to the money Teva gives to “key opinion leaders” and key healthcare organizations. In Spain, notable among these, totaling 2023 and 2024, are Patricia Pozo Rosich, a neurologist at Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, ​​who received €77,000 directly from Teva in what they call “transfers of value.” Other recipients include the SEN Foundation (Spanish Society of Neurology), Barcelona, ​​€238,000; the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital Research Institute, Barcelona, ​​€138,000; and the Spanish Society of Clinical, Family, and Community Pharmacy (SEFAC), Madrid, €143,000.

Concrete actions 

 

For example, focus the boycott on Teva's three best-selling medications in Spanish pharmacies: omeprazole, atorvastatin, and pantoprazole.

 

The next best-sellers are: rosuvastatin, rasaglycine, apixaban, fentanyl, and budesonide/formoterol.

 

If possible, remember that Teva is Teva, but so are Actavis, Davur, Belmac, Ratiopharm, and Tevagen, so you can ask for alternatives to these brands.

 

Discuss the Teva issue with family, friends, and colleagues.

 

Among prescription medications prescribed by hospital specialists, there are several brand-name (not generic) drugs: Austedo (deutetrabenazine) for Huntington's disease and tardive dyskinesia, Ajovy (fremanezumab) for migraines (it offers no benefit), Copaxone (glatiramer) for multiple sclerosis (it offers no benefit), and Uzedy (risperidone) for... Schizophrenia and Azilect (rasagiline) for Parkinson's disease.

“Acción directa”: boicot a los productos de Teva

¿Te sientes impotente frente al genocidio en Palestina? 
¿Sientes que nuestra pequeñez es inmensa frente a su inmensa fortaleza, al Israel respaldado por Estados Unidos, Unión Europea, Canadá, Australia, Nueva Zelanda, Japón y demás países “enriquecidos”?
¿Quieres que tus acciones “se noten” y debiliten el poder de Israel?

El boicot a los productos de Teva te da la oportunidad de la “acción directa”, sin intermediarios, sin que el compromiso de los políticos e instituciones  tergiverse tu propio compromiso. 
La “acción directa” lleva a cambios sociales y políticos a través de la movilización colectiva. Su objetivo principal es presionar al poder establecido utilizando la acción inmediata y directa, sin recurrir a intermediarios ni representantes. 

La “acción directa” se fundamenta en la solidaridad (“hoy por ti, mañana por mí) y en la ternura (conmoción interior que nos une entrañablemente a quien sufre, un estado de ánimo que nos predispone a la ayuda).

¿Por qué Teva?

Teva es un empresa israelí de medicamentos. La mayor empresa de medicamentos genéricos (sin marca) del mundo. También vende medicamentos de marca.
Teva es Teva, y muchas otras industrias como Actavis, Davur, Belmac, Ratiopharm y Tevagen.
Teva es una empresa corrupta y corruptora en todos los países del mundo en los que opera. Ha sido condenada y multada con miles de millones de dólares por sus actividades delictivas (algunas han conllevado muertes incontables, como en la “epidemia” de mortalidad por opiodes en Estados Unidos).

Teva genera inmensos beneficios que se emplean en Israel para sostener el régimen sionista, el apartheid y el genocidio contra Palestina. 
Además, Teva apoya directamente al ejército israelí, por ejemplo con programas especiales de soporte a sus soldados.

Al hacer boicot a Teva estás disminuyendo directamente el poder de Israel.

Diez ideas clave

1.- Teva es una empresa criminal, corrupta y corruptora

8.- Cuando debilitas a Israel y proteges Palestina estás debilitando la “exportación” de los métodos de Israel que dañan la población y que un día se nos pueden aplicar a las poblaciones en otros países, incluida España

9.- Gran parte del uso de medicamentos de Teva se debe al dinero que Teva da a médicos “creadores de opinión” (key opinion leaders) y organizaciones sanitarias clave. Destacan, sumando el total en 2023 y 2024, Patricia Pozo Rosich, Barcelona, neuróloga del Valle D’Hebron, que recibió directamente de Teva 77.000 euros en lo que llaman “transferencias de valor”. También la Fundación SEN (Sociedad Española de Neurología), Barcelona, 238.000, Fundació Hospital Universitari Valle D'Hebron, Institut de Recerca, Barcelona, 138.000 y la Sociedad Española de Farmacia Clínica, Familiar y Comunitaria, SEFAC, Madrid, 143.000 euros.

10.- Hazte con un vocabulario básico, no tengas miedo a los nombres de los medicamentos. Al final son muy pocos los que interesan.

 

Acciones concretas

Centra el boicot en los tres medicamentos más vendidos de Teva en las farmacias españolas: omeprazol, atorvastatina y pantoprazol.

Los siguientes más vendidos son: rosuvastatina, rasaglicina, apixaban, fentanilo y budenosida/formoterol.

Si puedes, recuerda que Teva es Teva pero también Actavis, Davur, Belmac, Ratiopharm y Tevagen, para pedir alternativas a estas marcas.

Comenta la cuestión de Teva en la familia, con las amistades y en el trabajo.
